And now for my all time favorite characters ever: Fred and James!!!!! Ok, so it'll be Fred and George Weasley, and James Potter, with a couple others mixed in. Also the James Potter ones aren't a chronology, but just a collection of shots of James Potter that have appeared. By the way, James Potter may be my all time favorite character. I'm a JamesxLily fanatic! So, here they are!
Fred and George Weasley (James and Oliver Phelps)
Year 1: SS
The twins were always awesome in every book. "We'll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat!" They're awesome.
Year 2: CoS
Then they drive their dad's flying car to pick up Harry. What were they supposed to be here, like 14? The actors are very good at finishing each other's sentence and saying things in unison. I wonder if they do it in real life?
Year 3: PoA
The actors started getting better looking here. Also, in the books they give Harry the Maurauder's Map and help him sneak to Hogsmeade. This makes them responsible for like a billion important things that happen throughout the rest of the series. Go Weasley twins!
Year 4: GoF
They were sooooo funny in this one! I love in the book when Dumbledore announces the Triwizard tournament and Fred yells "YOU'RE JOKING!" The actors were also really funny in this one, with all the Goblet stuff, making fun of Ron dancing, placing bets on the events; they did a good job with that.
Year 5: OotP
This picture includes four of the Weasleys, but that's ok. Though this is quite a somber scene, when they find out their dad was hurt. (Side note: I like their matching plaid bathrobes) But the greatest scene ever is in this one. It was more epic in the book, though still quite epic in the movie. The twins' escape from school. :D I love it!
Year 6: HBP
There they are, in their shop! I loved the idea of their shop so much I came up with a fanfiction that took place there, which involved their assistant girl, Verity. They're just so awesome too. They would be the coolest older brothers ever (if you stayed on their good side, otherwise you'd get pranked a lot).
Year 7: DH
There wasn't a picture from the 7th one yet, so here's four of the Weasleys from the fifth one again. About the 7th one though: EPIC SADNESS. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE HE'S DEAD. WHY DO MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS ALL END UP DEAD!?!?
James Potter
So while I go through these I'll try to ignore the fact that they have a tendancy to make James Potter look COMPLETELY WRONG in the movies. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he supposed to be HOT, not nerdy? And wasn't his hair supposed to be dark, like Harry's, and messy? Why do they fail at James?
So instead of talking about the crappy image they gave James in the movies, I'll talk about how awesome he is in real life (aka the books). He's a trouble maker, but he's really loyal to his friends, and he's a good wizard, and he's really smart, and powerful with magic, and he may have started off a bit (a lot) arrogant, but he eventually grows up and becomes really awesome... until he dies. WHY DO ALL THE CHARACTERS I LOVE DIE?!?!?!
Ok, one more time: James and Sirius look SO WRONG. They were both supposed to be extremely good-looking and have all the girls love them. They look like epic nerds. And Sirius is supposed to have black hair!!! Is it that hard to color their hair?!!?
This one is slightly more acceptable. He looks slightly less nerdy and more James Potter-ish from the side. However his hair is still too light and neat.
Here is one of my biggest pet peeves about the Harry Potter movies. This is supposed to be James in the Order of the Pheonix (aka before he died). He died when he was 21. Does he look 21 or less in this picture?!?!?! NO. He never looks 21, they always show him as an adult adult. So stupid. Also, Snape, Lupin, Sirius... all supposed to only be 20 years older than Harry... so 31-37. They look more like 50s. Not good. Stupid anachronism.
Again ignoring the fact they look older than they should, James and Lily = happiness. I'm pretty sure they are my all-time favorite pairing ever. They're just so cute and perfect for each other. They're both such awesome characters! Very, very tragic also.
So, that's all the Harry Potter characters I'll be doing for now. Maybe I'll freak out and do some more closer to when the movie comes out, but for now, this is the end of my four-part Harry Potter post series. Let me know what you think! Also, let me know if you'd like to see any onther characters!

7 Years of Harry: Draco and Neville
Next up are two characters that would I'm sure hate being put in the same blog post. However I'm not sure how else to break them down, so here they are: Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom! Draco I really don't like as a character, and Tom Felton isn't my favorite, at least in looks, but he's a good Draco. Also from the interviews I've see with him he seems like he's probably pretty cool, not at all like Draco. XD Neville is a cute, fun character. He's not a character I'm super-into, but he's cool, and I like when he's unexpectedly awesome.
Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton)
Year 1: SS
I don't have much to say about Malfoy since I really don't like his character and therefore don't pay attention to it, especially in the early books when he's nothing but a snobby, whiny brat. But for those of you who do like him, or like me are just curoius to see how his look as changed over the years, here he is.
Year 2: CoS
Stupid whiny rich brat who bought his way onto a quidditch team. :P
Year 3: PoA
HAHA. He gets punched in the face by Hermione.
Year 4: GoF
Look at that obnoxious smirk. Tom Felton is definitly a good actor.
Year 5: OotP
Stupid jerkface sucking up to and helping evil Umbridge. >< I didn't really like him in the movie either, though it probably isn't his fault, I just think the way they show the "Inquisitorial squad" in that cheesy comedic way is dumb, because it would be a lot scarier than that. Draco and his friends with that kind of power would be like having Nazis running the school. His friends may be buffoony, but he's smarter, and not in a good way.
Year 6: HBP
Side note: I actually like this picture ok. He's still blond though. :P Anyway, Draco goes from being obnoxious, to actually a bad guy (though not a very successful, or really willing one) at the beginning of this one when he becomes a death eater. However, I almost liked him at the end because you can tell he would not have killed Dumbledore.
Year 7: DH
So I couldn't find a picture of Draco from the new one yet, but enjoy this silly picture of Tom Felton in a bathtub instead (my friend picked it out.) As much as I didn't like Draco throughout the series, I am glad his family is basically redeemed at the end, what with Draco pretty much giving up fighting and his mom protecting Harry in order to know Draco is safe. I feel bad for him in this book too, because he's kinda stuck being a death eater, and not a respected one at that, and obviously isn't into it anymore.
Neville Longbottom (Matthew Lewis)
Year 1: SS
Haha, look at little Neville. Imagine, if Voldemort had thought the prophecy meant him instead of Harry, it'd be him going through all the dangerous stuff. Now I kind of want to go find a fan fiction about that. Anyways, poor Neville starts out as klutzy, dorky, wuss.
Year 2: CoS
Still such a tubby little kid. He was very young looking in the first couple. Still pretty much a wuss too.
Year 3: PoA
Wow, look at that awkward preteen thing he has going on.
Year 4: GoF
"Oh my god! I killed Harry Potter!" Despite the fact it was supposed to be Dobby who gives Harry the gillyweed, this line is still one of my favorites ever. Also, he's just so british looking, isn't he?
Year 5: OotP
Aka, Neville stops being a wuss. He stands up for Harry when people think he's nuts, he learns a lot in Dumbledore's Army, and he goes to the Department of Mysteries with Harry, where he actually talks back to Bellatrix. I really started liking Neville more in this one.
Year 6: HBP
He's so old looking and so... not good-looking. Oh well. Regardless, he's definitly more a part of the group in this one, and in the book he fights death eaters with Harry, and clearly belongs in Gryffindor.
Year 7: DH
The whole Neville as Dumbledore's army, taking all the beatings and not caring, helping other kids hide, messing with the death eaters, fighting in the final battle, and finally killing Nagini with the sword of Gryffindor; yeah, Neville's epic. He's pretty much the quintessential underdog. He's so awesome in this book!

7 Years of Harry: Ron and Hermione
To continue, it's now time to take a look at the next two most important characters in the series and how they've changed over time. (And also how their relationship has changed ;) ) It's my favorite character in the movies (the books are another story), Ron Weasley and my favorite pairing for him, Hermione Granger!
Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint)
Year 1: SS
Look at little Ron eating all that candy! Little ginger kid! Rupert's a good actor too, and a great choice for Ron. He was so awkward looking in a cute little kid way. I don't think I particularly liked Ron's character the first time I read the books, he was okay, but just a random character I didn't care about. It was really in the later books I started liking him more. But the movies I always liked him because he's just played so well. I love the chess scene near the end of the first one because it's that first time you really get to see that brave, confident side to Ron that develops more later on.
Year 2: CoS
He was still pretty little-kid-awkward here, but it's perfect because so was Ron his second year. And look at Rupert's expression with that wand. Who could do a better Ron Weasley. Ron, in the second one, is definitly becoming more used to the dangerous stuff he always encounters around Harry, and shows he can handle it (at least mentally, not exactly magically yet) when he goes with Harry to the Chamber of Secrets. He still has a big role as the one who explains magical things to Harry, but starts developing more of a character.
Year 3: PoA
Finally he's leaving the awkward little kid stage. I believe a picture or two from him made my binder back then. ;) I'd say this is his "whiny" year, but that phase lasts quite a bit more than a year for Ron. He pretty much starts his whole whiny-drama phase in the this one and it lasts all the way up to and including the sixth one. However he definitly has his own developed, indepth personality in this one, and I still love him. :D
Year 4: GoF
The hair was actually a little too long for me in this one, but it wasn't bad. Still much better than Daniel Radcliffe with short hair *shudders*. You really get to see several sides to Ron in this one though. There's the jealous Ron, who wishes he could have some of Harry's glory, there's... jealous Ron, who can't stand seeing Hermione with Krum.... ok so we see a lot of jealous Ron. But it serves well to introduce those two plotlines of Ron's that follow him throughout the series. A slight bitterness toward Harry, and his feelings for Hermione.
Year 5: OotP
I really like his hair in this one. This is definitly the movie where I said, "Forget, I like Ron/Rupert better than Harry/Daniel." As far as the character goes, at least he's more level headed than Harry in this one. Though that isn't hard.
Year 6: HBP
Oh Ron. This book is not his shining moment. Though at least he's funny, right? I definitly hated Lavender and that whole thing with her, and Ron was clearly a bit behind on the maturity charts in this one. I guess something had to happen eventually to set things off with him and Hermione. At least in the end he comes to his senses.
Year 7: DH
So I just got a T-shirt with Ron on it from this movie. Just saying. Anyways, I don't consider this one part of Ron's whiny phase, despite his... whining.... because he's under the influence of the locket, and comes to his senses very quickly, though it's then too late for a while. Ron has definitly grown up by this book, and I love that he gets to be the one to kill the locket. Also the subplot of him and Hermione in this one is great and the house elf thing at the end = perfect. I really can't wait to see Rupert play him in the movie version.
Year 3: PoA
Year 4: GoF
All I can say about this one is: Her. Ron. Fight Scene at the ball. Yup. "Well you know what the solution is then? Next time ask me first, before someone else does, and not as a last resort!"
Year 5: OotP
You get to see some very intense magic work from her in this one. The way she makes the communication coins and protects the room with enchantments, and curses if you reveal the location show how great the extent of her capabilities is.
Year 6: HBP
In Half Blood Prince we finally the side of Hermione that can be irrational, over-emotional, and jealous, in her big fight with Ron over his "relationship" with Lavender. This is far different from the "her" that she has let everyone else see up to this point. The actress did very well with the "canary scene" in the movie.
Year 7: DH
She stays mostly level headed, and stands unwaveringly by Harry in this one, despite everything they go through. She also stays with Harry, despite Ron walking out, though that emotional side that appeared in the later books is still there, in her reaction to Ron upon his return (ANGRY). From what I've seen of the previews I think Emma will portray all of this well again.
The Pair
Hopefully you'll enjoy these pictures of the adorable couple from a few of the different movies as much as I did.
Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint)

So these don't really have a point other than they're awesome pictures. So yeah. Go Ron!
Hermione Granger (Emma Watson)
Year 1: SS
I'm not going to have much to say about Emma Watson/ Hermione, since I really don't pay as much attention to her character, and don't really care about the actress. She's a pretty good actor and fits the part of Hermione very well. She did the "goody-two-shoes-know-it-all" way Hermione acts in the first one very well for a young actress. Which is pretty much Hermione's entire role in the first book.
Year 2: CoS
At least Hermione does start to loosen up a bit in this one. For instance, in the picture above she is brewing the polyjuice potion, made of ingredients she stole. While I'm at it, I should mention I love the props in this picture. Everything is so intricate and old looking, and the wooden case for the supplies even has her initials engraved on it. It's pretty awesome.
Year 3: PoA
She's quite a bit different in this one, with all the punching Malfoy and whatnot. Also when the movie came out I was jealous of the actress because she had a lot of scenes with Daniel Radcliffe and I liked him a lot this movie.
Year 4: GoF
All I can say about this one is: Her. Ron. Fight Scene at the ball. Yup. "Well you know what the solution is then? Next time ask me first, before someone else does, and not as a last resort!"

7 years of Harry: Harry
I know, I know, the actual franchize of Harry Potter has been around a lot longer than 7 years, and even the movies, and these corresponding pictures have been going on for about 9 years, but the point is there are 7 books and 7 (ish) movies that are supposed to cover 7 years. That means there were 7 different versions of each character as not only the characters grew in the books, but as the actors portraying them in the movies grew.
Year 7: Deathly Hallows
So I decided, in honor of the first half the final installment coming out next month (Just got my tickets for midnight!) I would put up some pictures of the characters from the various movies. It's really fun to see how different the actors look going from the first all the way to the seventh, and to think about how different they and their characters really act. This will probably be in a few parts, since there's a lot of characters I wanted to cover, and a lot of fun pictures. So without further ado, Harry, from year 1 to year 7!
Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe):
Imagine what it must have been like for some 10/11 year old kid to find out he was going to be Harry Potter. Even if the series didn't have quite the, errrr... following, it does now, it still was every kid's dream to be him, to get to go to Hogwarts. And maybe it wasn't the real Hogwarts, but until the theme park came out last year, it was as close as you could get.
I thought he was so cute when I was 12. I loved that the series followed my age so well. The books were pretty close, and the movies were for a while, and since the actors age at normal speed XD Daniel Radcliffe was always only a year older than me. He got a lot older looking between the first and second movies. This exact picture was in my assignment book in 8th grade.
My favorite of both the early books and movies (That's 1-4.) People say the year 5 is when it gets darker, but really for Harry it was dark all along. Year 3 is when it really starts getting dark for him though because it isn't just "stay away from the bad guy trying to kill you" anymore. This is where Harry starts learning the twisted backstory behind his parents death, has to deal with other people being evil not just Voldemort, and is faced with the decision of possibly personally killing someone for revenge. Quite a bit for a 13-year-old to deal with, don't you think?
This picture was on one of my binders in high school. The last picture of him that made it onto anything of mine, since he then cut all his hair off. The costumes from these movies (the wizarding ones, not when they're just wearing normal clothes) are awesome. I want them all. *Runs off to change costume construction project.* The quidditch uniform in this picture makes me really want to play quidditch and their school uniforms and robes are very fun. Also some of the adult wizards have cool robes, but I might get into that later.
And then Harry Potter chopped off all his hair. The end. >< I did like the 5th book a lot, and the movie was ok, but it was the beginning of a new style of Harry Potter. The books were more mature, more indepth, and intense. The movies really started focusing more on the characters and main plot, and less on the "wizarding world" novelty. Also, Harry in year 5, besides being rather angsty, becomes more confident and empowered, and starts empowering others as well with Dumbledore's Army.
They really got uncreative with the promotional pictures didn't they? And he still had no hair! I did like Harry in this book though, he toned down the angst and was really very mature about things, even things with Ginny relatively. I really liked the movie as well and thought Daniel Radcliffe did a good job in this one, with all the little quirks he gave Harry. The interesting thing in this one is Harry is more of a bystander in a lot of it. He doesn't go out and do a lot of big stuff himself. He's learning from and accompanying Dumbledore, witnessing Ron and Hermione's issues, he even is frozen and has to just watch Dumbledore's death. Instead in this one you see a lot of the other characters' personalities and what they're capable of.
Year 7: Deathly Hallows
This one has everything. Epic Battles, mystical desired tokens, exposition, fugitives, undercover missions, snakes popping out old ladies, secret pasts, redemption, bad guys who are actually good, resurrection, romance, marraige, birth, betrayal, loyalty, tension between friends, explosions, ghosts of dead parents, underdogs, mom-power, imprisonment, bank robbery, dragons, clues falling into place, back story, dismemberment, secret organizations, government take-overs, Christian allegory, and of course death, death, and more death. In the book, and hopefully the movie, Harry has to undergo a lot of sadness, disappointment, and loss, before getting to the final battle. And throughout he learns and changes a lot, as you see a much more mature, experienced, confident, and disillusioned Harry than the little 11-year-old boy who first got a letter to Hogwarts.
I'll do the rest of the characters later. Next up will be Ron and Hermione!
